Country Wedding
To source out information on NON Traditional wedding can be somewhat more difficult.
If you know someone that has a few acres then consider a country wedding
(or enquire at the many Farm-stay vacation homesteads)
Guests to dress-up in olden day costumes (hoop dresses with frilly umbrellas?)
Buggy to transport your Bridal Party
Marquee tent with B-B-Q or Hungi and buffet style dinner or if it is at one of the farm-stay homesteads, they may provide a camp oven style dinner.
A hay ride for guests
Country outdoor band to kick up a storm.
Place hay stacks around to enjoy a fireside sing-a-long and joke telling night.

Suggestions for Games to play
Spin the bottle
Musical chairs
Piñata (blindfold, broomstick or dowel rod(do not use a bat) fillers and piñata can be made or bought. Make one for the kids and one for the adults.
Broom Throwing
Pirate wedding theme
Hire a steamboat, paddlewheel, houseboat or one of the many river cruises (that have a luncheon/dinner included) and tell everyone to
dress as a pirate or Island Girl.
Hire an island band to play music.
Hillbilly wedding theme
For all the red necks you know! This will need to be held at a farm. And best in a barn with hay stacks for seats.
Track down an old truck/ute with flatbed back and place a secured rocking chair and other wooden chairs or lounge for the bridal party. (make sure the driver is NOT
a red neck and drives very slow.)
Wedding attire can be as red neck as you want (and even bare footed)
Have the groom wheeled to the altar in a large wooden wheel barrow with a keg of moonshine (bottle of whisky) sitting on his chest
Have the bride walk down the "isle" on the arm of a shotgun toting Father.
Hire/Make police/ trooper costumes and get a couple of the family to "bust" the reception for moonshine.
Reception same as above for "country wedding".
Bonny and Clyde:
There are olden day cars that can be hired.
Find an olden day church, warehouse or get married at a casino (and hope that all the guests leave for the reception)
If you have chosen a warehouse and its big enough, this could be divided into wedding venue/reception.
Hire a café that has a jukebox and milkshake bar which allows a BYO (hog's breath cafe?) there are café's in a city that do have the olden day feel as well as tabled
jukeboxes, check out on the net.
Or with the warehouse, hire a jukebox (or DJ that has olden day music) tables, chairs etc can be hired from any party hire firm.
Have 2 gunmen break into the reception with machine guns (have a machinegun soundtrack run at the same time). Be sure you have someone video this as it happens.
Movie Actor Theme:
Everyone is to dress as an actor/actress of their choosing (take a vote at the reception to select the most likeness and award a prize,
maybe a footprint casting, name and date set onto a mock cement tile?)
Hire a closed down Movie Theater or check out a current movie theater or any arts theater to see if they have a room you may be able to hire in an off time period.
Have a footman call out each guest as they arrive (by their actors name)
